On 14th Bhadra, following the devastating floods on 10th Bhadra, Nepali artists have played an active role in relief and rescue efforts. Both domestic and international artists have shown their commitment at various levels to raise aid. They have been involved not only in contributions to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund but also in distributing relief materials across various sectors.
Artist Varsha Shivakoti donated NPR 300,000, while content creator and actor Paras Bam Thakuri (KUL Boy) contributed NPR 500,000. Singer and actor Prakash Saput gave NPR 100,000, and singer Rachana Rimal also made donations. Singer Samiksha Adhikari delivered food supplies and essential items for flood victims through the District Administration Office of Kaski on Saturday and additionally contributed financially to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
Durgesh Thapa traveled to Nuwakot to distribute necessary items such as clothes, mattresses, pillows, nets, and blankets to flood-affected areas. During his tour of Australia and New Zealand, singer Sushant KC donated NPR 1,000,000 towards flood relief, while the John Andy Locals band in the United States contributed NPR 500,000. The Kandara Band plans to dedicate proceeds from their tribute and memorial concert held in Atlanta, USA, to the emergency relief fund and distribute the collected funds to the victims and affected communities as needed. Along with financial assistance, artists are also calling for unity during this crisis.
