Mukesh Kumar, 48, from Kathmandu, also known as Mukesh Singh, has been arrested for selling substandard rice packaged as branded rice. He was using sacks labeled “Long Grain Premium Special Rice” at his New Prakash Food Industry in Kuleshwor to sell inferior rice.
An investigation is ongoing into allegations of black market activities and other related social offenses against him. Mukesh Singh, who was arrested on September 3, was accused of deceiving consumers by marketing low-quality rice under the guise of branded rice.
