Perform at Your Best Without Worrying About Results: Minister Sasmit Pokharel

Minister of Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, saw off the Nepalese karate team at Tribhuvan International Airport as they departed to participate in the 20th Asian Games in Japan. Minister Pokharel encouraged the athletes to focus on delivering their best performance without the pressure of winning medals, stating, “We are representing our country’s flag here; thank you all.” He motivated the players to return with new experiences.

Minister Pokharel also announced that the government would provide national team athletes access to the airport’s “VIP lounge” facilities. He stated, “Athletes representing the nation deserve the same respect as distinguished individuals.” He further emphasized that the practice of only celebrating medal winners while ignoring others after losses would end.

Reflecting on his conversations with the athletes, Minister Pokharel shared, “The players desire respect for their hard work and dignity rather than having high financial expectations from the state.” He committed to attending future send-offs at the airport and concluded, “Go and perform at your best. Best wishes to everyone.”
