The young Nepali boxer Aviral Ghimire delivered an outstanding performance at the Kickboxing-59 International Championship held in Nagoya, Japan. Competing in the men’s 70 kg weight group at Kariya Hall, Aviral, famously known as the “Himalayan Cheetah,” defeated France’s Mathan Choinard by knockout to claim the championship title. Choinard is the reigning champion of 2025.
Aviral, a resident of Gurjudhara, Chandragiri Municipality-12, has participated in 29 international tournaments throughout his career. This victory marks his 21st win, 20 of which have come by knockout. Following his triumph, Aviral expressed sorrow over the loss and damage caused by the recent Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa and pledged support to those affected. He also thanked everyone who has supported and accompanied him throughout his athletic journey.
