Arambha Cup National Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament to Be Held at Lainchaur

The Arambha Cup National Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament, organized by Arambha Sanskar School, is scheduled to take place from Bhadra 31 at the National Table Tennis Training Center located in Lainchaur. The competition will feature 10 events, including Boys and Girls Team categories and singles matches for Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 age groups, with an expected participation of 400 to 500 players. The top three winners in each singles category will receive cash prizes of NPR 6,000, NPR 3,000, and NPR 1,500 respectively. The tournament will run until Ashoj 2.

At a press conference held on Monday, Naresh Prasad Shrestha, principal of Arambha Sanskar School, stated that the competition will include ten different events. There will be team events for boys and girls as well as singles matches across various age categories. Mohandas Basukal, the head coach of table tennis, informed that 400 to 500 players are expected to participate.

Principal Shrestha emphasized that the competition aims to be an ongoing event in the future and highlighted the importance of students excelling not only academically but also in extracurricular activities. He mentioned plans to organize tournaments in other sports as well. Additionally, Shrestha announced that full scholarships were awarded to 16 athletes in different sports during the press conference.

The total expenditure for operating the tournament is estimated to be around NPR 500,000. All matches will be held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchaur until the tournament concludes on Ashoj 2.
