On a highway in southwestern India, a leopard that was injured after being hit by a vehicle attacked a rescue team attempting to assist it. The rescuers were trying to tranquilize the animal using a dart to calm it down. However, when they tried to place the leopard into a truck, the animal attacked one of the rescuers. Both the leopard and the rescuer are reportedly in stable condition.
An official stated that the leopard is currently under observation in a wildlife sanctuary. According to the official, there are plans to possibly transfer the leopard to a rescue center in the future.
