He clarified that only after Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu leave office will Iran consider reopening the Hormuz Strait. According to Jolqadar, this move marks the first phase of Iran’s retaliation. “Iran has decided to break the strength of its aggressive enemies and to shatter the backs of arrogant powers,” he said.
According to BBC Persian, US President Donald Trump has issued contradictory statements about war or dialogue with Iran. Meanwhile, dissent is deepening within Iran regarding whether to maintain a military conflict against the US or opt for diplomacy. Some of Iran’s top political leaders are urging the US to implement the Islamabad Agreement as a condition for ending hostilities. President Masoud Pezheshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf are seen as proponents of this approach. Conversely, IRGC military commanders and hardliners argue that keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed and continuing the conflict is the most effective strategy to confront the US and Israel.
