Women’s Team Starts with Victory, Men’s Team Suffers Second Defeat at 20th Asian Games

At the 20th Asian Games, Nepal’s women’s kabaddi team commenced their campaign with a win, defeating Thailand 46–43 in Group B. The match took place Tuesday morning at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium in Japan, where Nepal secured the victory over Thailand. In Group B, Nepal competes alongside Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Chinese Taipei among eight participating teams. The other group includes Iran, India, Bangladesh, and Japan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

In contrast, the men’s kabaddi team suffered their second consecutive loss. Nepal was defeated by Pakistan 58–43 in their second game, having previously lost to Thailand in the opener. The men’s team is scheduled to play their third match against Iran later today. The men’s competition features 10 teams divided into two groups of five each, with the top two from each advancing to the semifinals. After two losses, it appears challenging for Nepal’s men’s team to qualify for the semifinal round.
