India secured their spot in the semifinals as the winner of Group A by defeating Japan 50-25 in the final group stage match. From Group B, Chinese Taipei emerged as the winner, while Nepal qualified as the runner-up. The final match is scheduled for Saturday.
The last group stage match was held at Japan’s Tokai Citizen Gymnasium, where India overcame Japan to guarantee the top spot in Group A. Iran qualified as the runner-up from this group and also advanced to the semifinals. In Group B, Chinese Taipei secured first place, with Nepal finishing second to earn a semifinal berth.
The first semifinal will see India face Nepal, starting at 8:45 AM on Friday morning. In the 19th Asian Games, Nepal and India also met at the semifinal stage, where Nepal was defeated by India and claimed the bronze medal. The second semifinal match between Chinese Taipei and Iran is scheduled for 2:45 PM on Friday. The final match is set to be held on Saturday.
