Nepal has advanced two places to reach 14th position in the latest ICC T20 International rankings. On Friday in Nagoya, Japan, during the Asian Games, Nepal defeated Afghanistan by 5 wickets. Nepal restricted Afghanistan to 102 runs and chased the target of 103 runs in 17.2 overs.
According to the ICC’s updated T20I rankings released on Friday, Nepal moved up two positions to claim the 14th spot. This rise follows Nepal’s victory over Afghanistan in the Asian Games cricket event held in Nagoya, Japan on Friday.
Following that win, the updated rankings show a significant improvement in Nepal’s position. Nepal bowled Afghanistan out for 102 runs in 20 overs, losing 7 wickets, and then successfully chased the target in 17.2 overs. Kushal Bhurtel took 4 wickets and Lalit Rajbanshi claimed 3 wickets, while Sandeep Jora contributed 34 runs and Rohit Paudel remained unbeaten with 33 runs. Nepal will next face Japan in the final group stage match on Saturday.
