Afghanistan currently tops Group A with 2 points from 2 matches, while Nepal is second with 2 points from one match, trailing slightly in net run rate. Japan, the third team in the group, has played one match but remains winless with no points, placed third.

The top two teams from the group will advance to the quarterfinals. The final group match between Nepal and Japan will occur on Saturday.
