October 10, Kathmandu – An armed group attacked a construction company’s camp in Duki district of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The attack resulted in the death of a private security guard and one person injured. According to the BBC, the attackers also kidnapped 12 workers. Mansoor Ahmed Buzdar, Duki police chief, reported that over 30 armed militants targeted the road construction company’s site.
Police confirmed that during the attack, fires were set to four company vehicles. Duki district is located approximately 315 kilometers from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, and the region has experienced intermittent incidents of violence over an extended period.
