Cockroach Party Demands Criminal Charges Against Chief Election Commissioner

Abhijeet Deepke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), stated that the primary demand of the protest starting tomorrow in Mumbai is to register a criminal case against the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Janesh Kumar. He clarified these main demands of the nationwide agitation, which began on October 2, during a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday.

The demands include filing criminal charges against Janesh Kumar, halting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, conducting elections based on the 2025 voter list, and forming an independent body to appoint the new Chief Election Commissioner. Deepke also urged the current Chief Election Commissioner to resign in order to resolve the various concerns evident in the present electoral process.

He stated, “The movement will continue until Janesh Kumar resigns. Our demands are immediate suspension of the SIR process, elections conducted on the basis of the 2025 voter list, and selection of a new Chief Election Commissioner through an independent institution.”
