Ghodaghodi, Morning Glory, and Birendra Sports Secure Victories in SPA Little Flower Pride League

Kailali, 2 October – In the ongoing 10th edition of the SPA Little Flower Pride League held at Fapla, Dhangadhi, Ghodaghodi Cricket Academy, Morning Glory School, and Birendra Sports Academy emerged victorious on Friday. During the tournament’s fourth match, Ghodaghodi Cricket Academy recorded their first win by defeating Pioneers Academy Lamki by 36 runs. Earlier, Ghodaghodi had suffered a nine-wicket loss to Morning Glory School in their opening game. Chasing the target of 133 runs set by Ghodaghodi, Pioneers managed only 96 runs for eight wickets in the allotted 15 overs. Roshan Shahi scored 25 runs, Prakash Majhi 24, and captain Dhirendra Nyaupane contributed 15 runs. Sudhanshu Rawal from Ghodaghodi took three wickets while conceding just 13 runs in three overs. Bhupesh Joshi and Roshan Bishwakarma each claimed two wickets, and Sujit Bhatt took one.
Batting first after winning the toss, Ghodaghodi posted 132 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 15 overs. Govind Bist made 62 runs off 43 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes. Nitesh Budhathoki added 23 runs, and Ganesh Shah scored 10 runs. For Pioneers, Solup Chaudhary took three wickets, while Bimal Kutwal and Royal Dhakal each took two. Govind Bist, who scored a half-century, was named Man of the Match. In the fifth game, Morning Glory School Mahendranagar was awarded victory after the Shuklaphanta Municipality Jhalari team failed to appear on the field on time.
In the sixth match, Birendra Sports Academy Sukhadh defeated Khaptad Indoor Sports Center by seven wickets. Birendra chased down the modest target of 56 runs in 8.3 overs for the loss of three wickets. Roshan Saud remained unbeaten on 27, while Nishan Regmi scored 25 runs. For Khaptad, Keshav Chand took two wickets and Pankaj Sharki claimed one. Khaptad had been bowled out for 55 runs in 11.4 overs, with Dipesh Bhat scoring 17 and Subham Khadka 15 runs. Omkar Yadav from Birendra Sports took four wickets conceding just four runs in three overs. Rupesh Thapa took two wickets, while Nirajan Kathayat, Rudraprasad Acharya, and Amar Mishra took one wicket each. Omkar was named Man of the Match.
The tournament, which started on Thursday, will continue until 7 October. The winner will receive a cash prize of NPR 200,000 along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. The runner-up will be awarded NPR 100,000 plus a trophy, medals, and certificates. Players exhibiting outstanding performances in various categories will also receive trophies along with cash prizes. Man of the Match in each game will be awarded NPR 1,000. A total of 15 teams from across the country are competing in the tournament.
