Two Oil Tankers Attacked While Traveling Through the Strait of Hormuz

Two oil tankers traveling through the Strait of Hormuz were attacked. According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, the two tankers were targeted in separate incidents. British maritime officials reported that in the first incident, one tanker was attacked by an unidentified missile while leaving the shipping lane. The attack caused a minor fire and affected the vessel’s electrical systems. After the crew managed to control the fire, the tanker continued its voyage.

Hours later, another tanker carrying crude oil in the eastern region of Oman was also struck by an unidentified missile. The British maritime authority confirmed that all crew members on this second vessel remained safe. The UK Maritime Trade Operations have stated that investigations into both incidents are currently underway.
