What Nutritious Foods Can Replace Instant Noodles and Biscuits for Flood Victims?

What nutritious alternatives can be provided to flood victims instead of instant noodles and biscuits? Temporary shelters housing people displaced by the floods of the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers have seen a high distribution of packaged foods like instant noodles and biscuits, which these individuals have relied on to curb their hunger. However, nutrition experts warn that frequently consuming such packaged foods, which are typically prepared with hot water, fails to provide the body with essential nutrients and may negatively affect health.

Seeking answers to these questions, Sagar Budhathoki conducted an in-depth interview with nutritionist Kavita Maharjan for ‘BBC Haathmilo’.
