Iranian President Advocates for Peace Based on Common Interests, Not Threats

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that talks with the United States can only succeed without pressure or threats. He made these remarks at the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit held in Turkmenistan.
Pezeshkian stated that Iran calls for cooperation instead of exhausting competition, mutual interdependence rather than unilateral dependence, and security based on trust and shared interests instead of threats. The president highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation over unilateralism, clarifying that instead of competing and displacing each other in the energy market, the region can be developed into a network for energy production, transmission, and exchange.
“The countries of this important and strategic region must play a key role in building a multipolar world,” Pezeshkian said.
