Kathmandu – In response to the Iranian missile attacks in southern Israel, all schools across the country have been closed. Education Minister Yoav Kish stated that consultations have taken place with the Home Front Command Major General regarding the attacks in the Dimona and Arad regions. On the social media platform X, Kish wrote, “I have decided that all types of exemptions will be revoked on Sunday and Monday, and no physical classes will be permitted during this time.”
Kish explained that the special educational exemptions will be suspended and that online classes will be conducted nationwide. During this period, yellow alert areas—those for children—will also be closed. The Education Minister added that he will reassess the situation on Tuesday before making any further decisions. Israeli emergency services reported significant damage from the missile attack in the southern city of Arad, with 88 people injured, many in serious condition.
