Lamichhane Responds: The Primary Right to Justice in the Oli-Lekh Arrest Case Belongs to the Mother of the Martyr

Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, stated in the House of Representatives meeting that the first right to justice belongs to the mother of the martyr. He urged opposition parties to abide by the law and emphasized that there should be no foreign interference when it comes to relinquishing power. Addressing the opposition’s protests regarding the arrest of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak, Lamichhane spoke during the first session of the House of Representatives on Thursday. He reiterated that the primary right to justice rests with the mother of the martyr, recalling those who lost their lives during the livelihood movement on Bhadra 23 and 24, saying, “The first right to justice belongs to the martyr’s mother, and this cannot be called retaliation.”

He urged the opposition parties to adhere to the law and declared that the tactic of invoking foreign interference when compelled to surrender power will no longer be effective. Lamichhane stated, “Once power must be relinquished, the game of foreign interference will no longer occur. From now on, there will be a transparent foreign policy that will ensure national interest.” He also guaranteed transparency and security for both domestic and foreign investors in Nepal.
