Preparations Underway for Siddharth Local Street Food Festival in Bhairahawa

March 22, Butwal – To celebrate the Nepali New Year 2083, the Siddharth Local Street Food Festival is being organized in Bhairahawa. Organized by the Rupandehi Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association, this festival will be held on Chaitra 30 at the Rangshala Road in Siddharthnagar-3, marking its fifth edition, organizers announced at a press conference on Sunday.
The festival aims to preserve traditional foods from various ethnic groups and provide musical entertainment to Bhairahawa residents on the occasion of the New Year. According to President Rajesh Mahotra, 80 food stalls will be operated during the event.
Mahotra stated that special emphasis will be placed on the authentic dishes and cultural arts of communities such as the Tharu, Magar, and Gurung. Both large and small hotels in Bhairahawa will showcase their signature dishes through dedicated stalls. The one-day festival anticipates participation from approximately 30,000 visitors and targets sales exceeding NPR 10 million.
To enhance the festival’s appeal, musical performances by singer Simran Pariyar along with local artists are scheduled, organizers added. During the press conference, tour and travel entrepreneur Chandra Thapa, Ganesh Prasad Belbase, Secretary of the Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association of Lumbini Province, and Anil Kumar Gyawali, Chairperson of Siddharth Network, suggested strategies to attract Indian tourists to the festival.
