
With this result, the two-match T20I series has ended in a 1-1 draw. On April 8 in Kathmandu, Nepal defeated the UAE by 8 wickets in the second T20I match. Chasing a target of 129 set by the UAE at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Nepal reached the target in 15.5 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. This leveled the two-match T20I series. Earlier on Monday, the UAE had defeated Nepal by 6 wickets in the first match.
Nepal’s opener Kushal Bhurtel played an outstanding innings, scoring an unbeaten 84 runs off 57 balls, including 12 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Dipendra Singh Airee also remained unbeaten, scoring 23 runs off 17 balls. Opener Kushal Malla was dismissed after scoring 19 runs off 19 balls, and Santosh Yadav managed 1 run before getting out.
In bowling, UAE’s Mohammad Arfan and Neelansh Keswani took one wicket each. After losing the toss, UAE batted first, scoring 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Akshdeep Nath played a half-century for the UAE. At 48 runs, UAE was in trouble at 6 wickets down, but the partnership between Nath and Arfan revived the innings. They put on 64 runs for the seventh wicket. Nath was unbeaten on 53 runs, while Arfan was dismissed for 32. Other UAE batsmen included captain Mohammad Wasim (0), Adib Usmani (30), Alishan Sharafu (1), Harpreet Singh Bhatia (1), Shoaib Khan (0), Neelansh Keswani (0), and Tanzir Naqash (0).
For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets, Hemant Dhami picked up 2, and Nandan Yadav and Shahab Alam claimed one wicket each.
