A 15-member team from Armed Police Force Number 37 Gulmi has been deployed to this base throughout the monsoon season for rescue operations. Reported on 21st Baisakh, Gulmi.
Targeting monsoon-related disaster incidents in Gulmi, the Armed Police Force Nepal has established this temporary monsoon response base inside the building of Rudravati Multipurpose Campus, Wamitaksar, Musikot Municipality–7. Commanded by Armed Police Deputy Inspector Top Bahadur Kumal, a team of 15 personnel from Armed Police Force Number 37 Gulmi headquarters has been deployed at the base.
With the onset of the monsoon, awareness of possible floods, landslides, inundation, and river erosions in various areas of the district has prompted the establishment of this base to ensure swift, effective, and organized rescue efforts. Particularly in the regions around Badiagad River, where risks increase annually during the monsoon, the team will remain prepared to carry out immediate relief and rescue operations in Musikot Municipality, Chandrakot Rural Municipality, and Satyawati Rural Municipality in case of potential disasters.
According to DSP Sudip Prasain, head of Armed Police Force Number 37 Gulmi, the team has been mobilized with necessary rescue equipment to enhance disaster management efficiency. Given that rural areas of Gulmi experience road blockages, swollen rivers, and recurring landslides during the monsoon, local residents have also been urged to exercise caution and preparedness.
