Russia and Tajikistan Strengthen Strategic Partnership, Continue Cooperation Across All Sectors

April 28, Kathmandu – Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoryev stated that the relationship between Russia and Tajikistan is advancing as a reliable strategic partnership and alliance. Speaking to TASS news agency on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Ambassador Grigoryev highlighted dynamic contacts and sustainable mechanisms driving cooperation across all sectors.

The ambassador also emphasized that the fraternal relationship between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has further strengthened bilateral ties. According to Ambassador Grigoryev, Russia-Tajikistan relations are grounded in the 1993 treaty of friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance, as well as the 1999 alliance treaty aimed at the 21st century. Currently, over 200 interstate, intergovernmental, and interdepartmental agreements are being implemented, providing a legal framework for multifaceted cooperation.

The ambassador noted Tajikistan’s leadership has shown an unwavering desire to expand collaboration into new areas, expressing confidence that this strategic partnership will reach new heights in the coming days.
