
Twelve literary works written in the Limbu language were collectively launched in Phidim, Panchthar. Govinda Angbung, Federal President of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung, stated that mother tongue literature helps keep history and cultural memories alive. The event was organized by Yakthung Pragya Pratisthan, where works by seven authors including Laxmikumar Serma, Narendra Raj Kerung, and Bhim Kurumbang were unveiled. The event took place on 28 Baisakh in Panchthar.
The twelve literary books in Limbu were launched in a program titled ‘Yakthung Literature Synthesis’ held in Phidim, the district headquarters of Panchthar. During the collective inauguration, Govinda Angbung emphasized that mother tongue literature sustains history, identity, and cultural memory.
Among the works launched were Laxmikumar Serma’s Mundhum text Yuma?Sammang – Theba? Sammang Thanchingma Mundhum; Narendra Raj Kerung’s poetry collection Cho?lungba Langangha; Bhim Kurumbang’s Thangben; Pushpahang Lowa’s Mirakko Kebekpa Phung; Yogi L.V. Nembang’s essay Muyeang Keppa Yapmiha; and Machindra Lowa Semi’s ghazal Pakkandi.
Additionally, six works by Sagar Kerung were unveiled: Muncheit–Henzila, Muksi Nu Parikha, Thang, Silamsakma, Abu Samlo–Henzila, Muksi Nu Parikha, Yakthung Pang–Pangwaila, along with the children’s song collection Phung. The publication of these books is regarded as a significant initiative linked to language and cultural preservation as well as the renaissance of mother tongue literature. The event was organized by Yakthung Pragya Pratisthan.
