
Gujarat Titans claimed the top position in IPL 2026 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 82 runs. Hyderabad were all out for just 86 runs while chasing a target of 169 set by Gujarat. Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder each took three wickets, playing a crucial role in Gujarat’s victory.
April 29, Kathmandu – Gujarat Titans have risen to the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 standings. In Tuesday’s match, Gujarat secured an impressive 82-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, virtually confirming their place in the playoffs. Hyderabad struggled throughout the innings and were bowled out for 86, falling far short of the 169-run target. Captain Pat Cummins was the highest scorer for Hyderabad with 19 runs, while Salil Arora, Henrik Claassen, and Ishan Kishan contributed 16, 14, and 11 runs respectively.
For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder took three wickets each, and Prasidh Krishna picked up two wickets. Mohammad Siraj and Rashid Khan also took one wicket apiece. Losing the toss and batting first, Gujarat posted 168 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan scored 61 runs and Washington Sundar added 50. For Hyderabad, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hossain took two wickets each, while Pat Cummins claimed one. With this win, Gujarat notched their fifth consecutive and eighth overall victory, moving to the top of the table with 16 points from 12 matches. Hyderabad, with 14 points from 12 matches, remain in third place.
