Sonam Wangchuk and Dipak Kakroach Join Cockroach Janata Party’s Protest in Delhi

Educationist Sonam Wangchuk has announced that he will participate in the Cockroach Janata Party’s Delhi protest on June 6 if Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign. The Cockroach Janata Party has declared a demonstration against exam irregularities at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on June 6 and appointed three spokespersons for the event. In response to irregularities in examinations, the Indian government has removed the Chairperson and Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education and formed a one-member committee to investigate the matter.

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) was formed following a verbal remark made by Chief Justice Surya Kant during a Supreme Court hearing on May 15, where he compared India’s new generation to cockroaches. This comment triggered a strong reaction on social media, leading to the party’s establishment. Within a short period, the party has gained more followers than the Bharatiya Janata Party and has become widely known. CJP founder Abhijit Dipak described the public’s anger in a satirical manner and said, “I did not expect such a large response. This is completely unexpected and a spontaneous show of support.”

On June 1, Dipak announced his return to India on June 6 to lead a peaceful demonstration at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party has previously made its presence felt by reaching Parliament. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra became the first prominent leader to join the party. Dipak stated, “We have long voiced our concerns for students who committed suicide due to the leak of NEET exam papers.”

Sonam Wangchuk has emerged as the new face of CJP’s leadership. He has spearheaded the ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement originating in the hilly regions of Ladakh and has experienced imprisonment for this cause. Wangchuk emphasized, “This campaign should be viewed as a form of democratic expression, not a threat.” He has declared his participation in the June 6 Delhi protest if Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign by June 5. Dipak remarked, “Due to the NEET exam paper leak and the CBSE evaluation controversy, Pradhan must resign.”
