May 8, Kathmandu – In the Asian Games men’s cricket qualifier final, Hong Kong posted a strong total against Nepal thanks to outstanding half-centuries from Anshuman Rath and Shahid Wasif.
After losing the toss and batting first, Hong Kong scored 188 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Nepal will need 189 runs to successfully chase the target, which would set a record in T20 international cricket.
Anshuman Rath scored 80 runs off 45 balls, including 6 fours and 6 sixes, while Shahid Wasif contributed 55 runs off 28 balls. Shiv Mathur added 26 runs as well.
For Nepal, Sher Malla was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets while conceding 32 runs in 4 overs. Karan KC took 2 wickets, and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed 1 wicket.
