While a ceasefire is in place, Iran and Israel have announced they have stopped attacks against each other.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday that his country has “for now” ceased its attacks. However, he emphasized that the conflict with Iran and Hezbollah “is not over.”
Before Netanyahu’s announcement, Iraq’s armed forces also declared a pause in operations against Israel. Nonetheless, Iranian military forces warned that any further Israeli attacks in Lebanon and other regions will be met with “strong retaliation.”
In response to an attack ordered from Tehran on Beirut targeting the Iran-backed Hezbollah on Sunday, Iran fired missiles toward Israel.
Following the missile strike from Iran, Israel launched an airstrike early Monday against military installations of the Islamic Republic.
Revelation: Attack Took Place Before Trump’s Appeal
U.S. President Donald Trump, in an interview, dismissed claims that Netanyahu acted against his wishes, stating such allegations are false.
Trump said he advised not to respond immediately to Tehran’s attack, but the Israeli missiles were already launched.
“No. Those missiles had already been released, halfway to their target,” he said.
The White House confirmed that Trump spoke with Netanyahu about the crisis. An Israeli official stated Israel halted attacks upon Trump’s request.
Regarding convincing Netanyahu to stop attacking Iran, Trump said, “I only said, ‘We have to act wisely.’ We’re very powerful and close to a great deal.”
Trump said Netanyahu agreed to his request.
In an interview with U.S. media outlet Axios, Trump warned that if Israel initiates war with Iran again, it might face fighting alone.
“I said, ‘Bibi (Benjamin), be careful, or soon you might be on your own,'” Axios quoted Trump as saying.
Netanyahu stated on television Monday that he responded to Trump and affirmed, “Israel has every right to self-defense and is using it as necessary.”

The shelling between Israel and Iran that began on Sunday continued until Monday morning. Israeli officials confirmed Iran launched missiles targeting Jerusalem and central and southern parts of Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported a second phase airstrike on the petrochemical facility in the southwestern Iranian city of Mahshahr. According to an Israeli military official, the site produces chemicals essential for ballistic missiles.
The head of Iran’s emergency services told Tasnim News Agency that 14 people were injured in the Mahshahr attack, with one additional person wounded in Tehran.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, five people were killed and eight injured in an Israeli attack on Tyre in southern Lebanon on Monday. The Red Cross confirmed that four of the wounded were rescue workers.
Hezbollah also reported firing rockets at Israeli troops and military vehicles in southern Lebanon on Monday morning.
The war between Iran and Israel began on February 28, following an Israeli and American attack on Iran that killed high-level officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran immediately retaliated by attacking Israeli and American military infrastructure deployed in Middle Eastern Gulf countries, escalating the conflict throughout the region.
