The Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship, part of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour, is scheduled to take place from Ashad 2 to 5 at the Gokarna Golf Club. The total prize pool for the tournament is NPR 1.8 million, with the winner set to receive NPR 320,000. Leading the season’s money list with four titles and earnings of NPR 827,500 before the tournament is Bhuvan Nagarkoti. (May 31, Kathmandu)
The final and prestigious event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2025-26 will commence on Tuesday at Gokarna Golf Club. Organized by the Nepal Professional Golfers’ Association (NPGA), the competition will feature 72 holes of play. A cut will be applied after the first 36 holes, with the top 18 professional players and amateurs making the cut advancing to the final two rounds. According to NPGA Secretary General Deepak Acharya, the country’s top professional golfers will compete for the NPR 1.8 million prize pool in this concluding event of the season.
The champion will take home NPR 320,000, while the runner-up will earn NPR 206,000. Players finishing third, fourth, and fifth will receive NPR 162,000, NPR 145,000, and NPR 128,000, respectively. All professional players who finish within the top 18 will receive cash prizes. Subash Tamang, who competes on the DP World PGTI Tour, will also participate in this event.
Another regular participant, Shukrabhadur Rai, is expected to contend for the title. On the amateur side, Nepal’s top-ranked player Sadbhaw Acharya will be competing with aims to secure the championship. Following the main tournament, a Pro-Am event will be held on Ashad 6, featuring 25 professional golfers and 100 corporate amateur players. NPGA President Ravindra Man Shrestha highlighted that this season-ending tournament offers the largest prize fund to date, with players prepared to compete with high morale.
