Norway Advances to FIFA World Cup Knockout Stage After 28 Years

On Tuesday morning at New Jersey Stadium in New York, Norway defeated Senegal 3-2, securing their place in the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 28 years. Kathmandu, 8 Ashar. However, in the 58th minute, Haaland scored his second goal of the match, increasing Norway’s lead to 3-1. During injury time in the second half, Sarr scored his second goal, but Senegal was unable to turn the result in their favor.

Playing in the World Cup for the first time since 1998, Norway secured their knockout stage spot with a game to spare. Norway had been unable to qualify since their last participation in the 1998 tournament. With this win, Norway currently sits second in Group ‘I’ with 6 points. France, also with 6 points, leads the group on goal difference. Both Norway and France have already qualified for the knockout rounds, while Senegal and Iraq, both yet to earn a point, remain winless in the group.
