A video showing a dog being brutally tortured and killed near Simkot Airport in Humla has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage. The horrific footage has left social media users both shocked and enraged. The video, which began circulating from Sunday, has been shared widely across various platforms. It was first posted on TikTok by the user ‘bibek.sunar790’ at 10:48 AM on Sunday.
The video depicts a helpless dog tied with a rope and suspended from a large rock on a hill. The cruelty is evident as someone mercilessly drops stones on the dog. Shortly after, another video was uploaded by the same account showing the dog already deceased. The background of the first video shows the airport area and a child. A song with the lyrics “Birth and death are the ways of the world, my friend, today make me immortal…” plays in the background, framing the incident in a bizarre celebratory manner.
Upon investigating the location, it was confirmed that the footage was recorded in the vicinity of Simkot Airport, Humla. After identifying the location, local authorities were contacted. The district administration appeared unaware of the incident. Assistant Sub-Inspector Jang Bahadur Gharti of Humla District Police Office confirmed that they have now received information about the case and an investigation is underway. As of the time of reporting, the video has been viewed by over 160,000 people and more than 700 comments have been posted, with the majority demanding strict legal action against those responsible.
