In Barchaur, Ward No. 7 of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality in Syangja, a leopard attack resulted in the death of eight goats belonging to local resident Nimbahadur Thapa. The leopard entered the animal shed on Monday night, killing six goats and carrying away two goats, according to police reports. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Datt Awasthi confirmed that a police team was dispatched to the site to collect detailed information about the losses.
The leopard attack has caused widespread fear in the village. The animal reportedly entered the village during the night and killed eight goats inside the shed. The attack occurred at the shed near the home of 42-year-old Nimbahadur Thapa on Monday night. The leopard killed six goats and took two others away, as confirmed by the police.
According to Ramesh Datt Awasthi, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Syangja Police, the complete details of the damage are still being gathered. He said, “We have received reports that the leopard entered the shed, killed six goats, and took two goats away. Our police team has reached the scene to conduct further investigation and collect necessary information.” Following the incident, locals are scared as leopard sightings have increased near the village.
