Tourism Minister Highlights Continuity of Eastern Development Plans in First 100 Days

23 Ashad, Kathmandu — Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Khadka Raj Paudel marked his first 100 days in office by outlining the achievements, emphasizing the continuation of projects initiated during the previous government’s tenure. The ministry has released key accomplishments during this period as part of administrative reforms.

Among these is the completion of the final draft of a bill aimed at transforming the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal into both a service provider and regulatory body. This draft had been prepared and registered during the last parliamentary term. Following the dissolution of parliament, there remains a possibility for this bill to be re-registered.

During this period, the ministry claims to have ensured that all airlines sell tickets exclusively through online platforms, although online ticketing was already available previously. Another notable achievement includes the preparation of a preliminary framework for restructuring the Nepal Tourism Board. Nearly a year ago, the ministry proposed significant changes to the board’s executive committee and drafted amendments to the Nepal Tourism Board Act, 1997.

The ministry also highlighted the conduction of tourism and hospitality training programs at both provincial and local levels as a new accomplishment. Such training sessions have been regularly organized by the Nepal Tourism Board and the Department of Tourism.
