
Minister for Education and Sports, Sashmit Pokharel, has informed that positive steps are underway to lift the suspension of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Speaking at the 125th board meeting of the National Sports Council, Minister Pokharel stated that continuous dialogue with FIFA is ongoing. Kathmandu, 12 August.
Minister Pokharel said, “We are cooperating closely. Discussions are ongoing. Various correspondences are also taking place. The dialogue is positive. We can hope the suspension will be lifted soon.” Although the ANFA issue was on the meeting agenda, no decision has been finalized yet.
According to sources, the government is currently awaiting a response from FIFA. “Our position has been finalized from our side. Now we are waiting for FIFA’s reply. Once we receive their response, the government will proceed,” the source revealed.
