August 14, Kathmandu – As competition intensifies in Nepal’s electric vehicle (EV) market, Tata Motors has enhanced its popular EV models, focusing on price and features. Following this strategy, the updated Punch and Tiago EVs have been introduced in Nepal.

These two models have attracted attention at the ongoing ‘Naima Nepal Mobility Expo – 2026’ held at Kathmandu’s Bhrikuti Mandap. Notably, the reduction in the Punch EV’s price and the affordable pricing of the Tiago EV have increased customer interest during the expo.

Punch EV

The starting price of the new Punch EV is set at NPR 3,399,000. Customers booking during the expo will receive a special discount, making it available for NPR 3,299,000.

The top variant is priced up to NPR 3,799,000. The new model offers two battery options with capacities of 30 kWh and 40 kWh. According to the company, compared to the previous model available in the market, both battery options have been increased by 5 kWh.

According to the company, the new Punch EV supports 65 kW DC fast charging, enabling it to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes. A 15-minute charge reportedly provides a range of up to 135 kilometers.

The Punch EV features two battery options of 30 kWh and 40 kWh, both offering 5 kWh more capacity than the previously available versions.

It can be charged from 20% to 80% in 26 minutes with support for 65 kW DC fast charging. A 15-minute charge yields a claimed range of 135 kilometers.

Built on the ‘Active’ platform, the new Punch EV offers 195 mm ground clearance, a 5-star NCAP safety rating, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, tire pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and high-beam assist, among other features.

It also includes a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, digital driver display, wireless charging, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and connected car technology. The Punch EV provides 366 liters of boot space.

Tiago EV

Similarly, Tata has launched the Tiago EV with a starting price of NPR 2,899,000, while the top variant is priced at NPR 2,999,000.

Targeted at customers seeking an affordable, city-focused electric vehicle, the new Tiago EV is equipped with a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 55 kW electric motor that produces 114 Nm of torque.

The new Tiago EV features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a multifunction steering wheel. The updated upholstery and refined interior design further modernize the cabin, according to the company.

Safety features include dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, and electronic stability control. The Tiago EV also offers a 360-degree HD camera and an updated digital cockpit.

Customers booking either model at the expo receive an extended warranty of 11 years or 220,000 kilometers from Sipradi Trading.

According to Arjun Upreti, Deputy Sales Manager at Sipradi Trading, special offers are available to customers during the expo. He explained that the Punch EV and Tiago EV are targeted at customers with different needs and budgets.

Sipradi CEO RajanBabu Shrestha stated that the company is committed to bringing modern technology electric vehicles to Nepal.

He emphasized that launching the new Punch and Tiago EVs in the Nepali market further strengthens the company’s commitment to electric vehicles.

Sipradi is prioritizing expansion of charging and service infrastructure alongside EV sales. Currently, the company operates more than 21 EV service centers, 40 DC charging points, and over 150 AC charging points across the country.

With the new models, the company expects to enhance customer convenience and confidence in using electric vehicles through improved after-sales service and expanded charging infrastructure.
