Manchester Super Giants defeated Trent Rockets by 5 wickets to clinch The Hundred men’s competition title for the first time. Tim Seifert played a crucial role in chasing the target of 159 runs, scoring 72 off 38 balls. Despite suffering defeats in three consecutive group matches, the Super Giants bounced back strongly to claim the championship.

In the final played at Lord’s, the Super Giants beat Trent Rockets by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining to lift the trophy for the first time. The Rockets had set a target of 159 runs, which the Super Giants chased down in 98 balls, losing 5 wickets. Seifert struck 7 sixes in his 38-ball innings, scoring 72 runs.

His performance was the joint highest individual score in the final. During the chase, Seifert and Paul Walter provided an aggressive start, putting together a 66-run partnership in 31 balls. Walter contributed 22 runs off 14 balls. After Seifert’s dismissal, the Super Giants faced some pressure, but Liam Dawson’s decisive six sealed the victory for his team.

This title holds special significance for the Super Giants. After losing three consecutive group matches and facing elimination, the team staged an impressive comeback by winning five successive games to lift the trophy. Jason Butler’s leadership change played a key role in the team’s revival. Butler took over captaincy after Aiden Markram returned home due to personal reasons. Meanwhile, Seifert’s outstanding campaign included four half-centuries, making him the second-highest run-scorer of the season.
