
May 22, Kathmandu: An Air India flight AI2802 traveling from Bangalore to Delhi experienced an engine fire on Thursday evening, but the aircraft safely landed at Delhi airport. The plane was carrying 160 passengers. According to a statement issued by Air India, “During the final landing procedures at Delhi, the cockpit crew received an indication of a fire in one of the engines, which was later confirmed to be accurate.”
The statement further noted, “The crew followed all necessary operational protocols and successfully landed the aircraft safely at Delhi airport. All passengers and crew are safe and have disembarked normally.” According to reports, Air India has initiated an immediate investigation into this incident, which will be conducted in coordination with the relevant regulatory authorities.
