
October 7, Kathmandu – Lionel Messi scored a goal in his farewell match for the Argentina national team, leading his country to victory. In a friendly match held on Wednesday morning at Argentina’s home ground, Argentina defeated Benin 3-0, with captain Messi netting one goal. Nicolas Otamendi and Nico Paz both contributed with a goal each.
In the 48th minute, Nicolas Otamendi opened the scoring to give Argentina the lead, followed by another goal from Nico Paz in the 61st minute. Captain Messi sealed the 3-0 victory by converting a penalty in the 71st minute. Last month, Messi announced his retirement from international football.
