October 9, Kathmandu – Preparations are underway to host the upcoming board meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Nepal. Roshan Singh, Vice President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), stated that the ICC board meeting is planned to be held in Nepal during the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026 season. “The proposal to hold the ICC board meeting in Nepal, in conjunction with the NPL, is nearly finalized, with only a few issues remaining. Official announcement will be made soon,” Singh said.
With representatives from the ICC expected to attend, Singh believes this event will have a positive impact on Nepal’s tourism sector and the development of cricket, while also attracting further support. He noted that the meeting can be scheduled once only a few matches from the final phase of the NPL remain. “We aim to create an environment where ICC develops a positive perspective towards Nepal, especially by showcasing the cricket atmosphere here,” he added. The third edition of the NPL is set to begin on November 25, with intense preparations currently underway at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground.
