Bharti Airtel Denies Elon Musk’s Allegations Regarding Satellite Internet Operations in India

October 8, Kathmandu – Bharti Airtel, a leading telecommunications company, has rejected allegations made by Elon Musk. Musk claimed that his satellite internet company, Starlink, has been prevented from operating in India. In response, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Airtel, stated publicly that their satellite venture, Eutelsat OneWeb, is also awaiting approval to begin services in India.
Elon Musk expressed his concerns in a post on X, alleging that certain industrialists in India are blocking Starlink’s satellite internet services from entering the market. Although Musk did not name any company directly, he remarked, “You can guess who they are.”
The Indian government responded to Musk’s allegations, clarifying, “A post has gone viral on social media claiming that India’s regulatory framework for satellite communication services is unfair and discriminatory. However, there are no discriminatory regulations of this kind in India.”
